When it comes to dentures, a person cannot learn to use his/her teeth by studying lessons or books. All you have to do is wear them continuously. It doesn't matter how much difficulty you experience, you will gradually learn to master them.

People with poor gum ridges will have more trouble than others. They usually realize the difficulty and are ready for the worst. We have special products for poor ridges , like the SureBite system. Special soft-liners can also be helpful in a flat ridge situation.

IMMEDIATE DENTURES

An immediate denture is placed in a patient's mouth when teeth are extracted. The appearance of the denture may be disappointing at first. Your face may seem full and the teeth may seem long and buck upon completion. Your tissue will allow us to reline your denture and your lip will not seem as protruded. When your permanent reline is complete, your new teeth will be as natural looking as possible.


ADJUSTING

There is never a charge for an adjustment at our office. During the first week after getting replacement dentures or relines, the patient should go slowly, but attempt most foods in "small bites".

GETTING COMFORTABLE

No matter how good your dentures feel when you leave our office, sore spots may occur. A denture is a custom-made appliance. A denture that requires no adjusting is the exception, rather than the rule.
